Chôros Workshops intend to raise awareness  upon its participants of theatre as a mean of expression and discussion about societal issues. The workshops explore possibilities of making theatre together, considering participants’ own personality, cultural identity and artistic practices as a creative asset.

The pedagogy is founded on a physical approach of theatre (not text-based), calling on each individuals’ personalities and special features (language, artistic capacities, physical presence) as a material for common creation. This methodology associates universal issues and each individual’s participation in a group: by making theatre, the common reflexion helps each one in outlooking at the world around and find a better place in it.

Participants are:

  • Children or youngsters (7 to 16 years old);
  • Specific groups such as refugees communities (e.g. in Georgia) or inhabitants of disadvantedged neighborhoods;
  • Social workers;
  • Representatives from educational institutions

Participants will work with artists from Image Aigue and local artists for a period of 2 hours.

Chôros Workshops takes place in Casablanca (December 2015), Tbilissi (March 2016), Sarajevo (May 2016)and Lyon (July 2016).
